
John began playing pool in 1992 at Boyces Billiards in Hesperia, California. Known as a well rounded athlete, John was an avid soccer player as a boy and competed in baseball till age 14 when he discovered golf. He played golf competatively both in high school and college to a near scratch handicap. John is also equally adept as an all around talent in a variety of cue sports.
In 1996, at age 23, John started playing pool more seriously and has been a recognized force in the U.S. pool and billiard's scene since. He has won major events in 9-Ball, 10-Ball, One Pocket and 14.1 Continuous (Straight Pool).
Considered one of the strongest 14.1 players in the world, John has the well earned nickname "Mr. 400" for a 400 ball run during a taped practice session. Once John began competing it was not long before he started to win prestigious events including the 2006 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship and the 2009 One Pocket Division of the Derby City Classic.
Away from the table, John is still very much a diverse athlete, playing golf, motorcycle riding, fishing and shooting. Gregarious, John loves to meet new people and enjoys promoting this sport that he has chosen as his career. A true crowd pleaser with his natural and relaxed demeanor, he is also developing a reputation as a good instructor. When chilling away from the table, John enjoys spending time with his long time girlfriend, Rachael and his dog Ginger.
In addition to being a member of Team CSI - American Grand Masters, John is a player representative for OB Cues and Diamond Billiard Products.
